​Prince Alfred Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1288

Prince Alfred Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1288 was named after the fourth child and second son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert who was Alfred Ernest Albert, born on August 6th, 1844.  In 1862 he was elected King of Greece but declined the offer.  He held the title of Duke of Edinburgh from 1866 until he succeeded his paternal uncle, Ernest II as the reigning Duke of Saxe-Coburg Gotha in 1893.  In 1874 he married Grand Duchess Marie of Russia.
